Ciara is a Licensed Professional Counselor with over 10 years of experience in the mental healthcare field. Her experience spans from private practice, to schools, hospitals, crisis/suicide prevention, as well as behavioral health outpatient clinics. Ciara's passion was ignited while working on her Bachelor's in Child Development & Family Living, which she obtained from Stephen F. Austin State University. This began her journey into non-profits with the Youth Advocate Program. She describes her time with YAP as fulfilling and eye-opening, as she worked with at-risk youth and families. This experience grew her interest and led her to pursue a Master's degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at Texas A&M Commerce.
As a therapist, Ciara enjoys working with all individuals across the life span; however, her true passion lies in working with youth! She loves interacting with kids, and appreciates how they allow her creative mind to flow and uniquely shape the techniques used in therapy. This creativity allows her to connect with youth from all walks of life. In her years of working with youth, Ciara has seen how a child's mental health struggles can impact the family system. She also understands the importance of active family work alongside their child. Ciara’s vision for Reset IOP is driven by her desire to help restore relationships and change mindsets, without disrupting life more than it already has been. She believes in addressing the family’s needs in addition to the child’s, offering support during difficult times, and setting them up for success with the confidence they need to thrive.
